Dear Daughter,

Actually, you can.

Love, Dad

Seriously, Enough said, right? I love this thought! It gives me such an extra vote of confidence when approaching something new. There is just something so special and so releasing knowing that Jesus has got your back, as you step out into something He’s called you to. Whether it’s a new job, a new season in life, or even if it is something as simple as getting your cute butt to the gym and living a healthier life. ha! Together, you can do it through his strength.

Remember, no matter what God is calling you to (even as you are reading this now), God will set you up for a win, and together- you’ve totally got this!

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

Dear Daughter,

I have chosen you to be a carrier of my peace.

Love, Dad

You know what, there is something different about you. I believe as you walk into the work place, or go about your daily lives, people look at you and say, I can’t quite pin point what it is, but she has something that I want. You know what it is? PEACE. It’s a bi-product of the Holy Spirit alive in you (Galatians 5) and it is something this world so desperately needs and craves. So don’t allow others to steal it from you, for you are a carrier of His peace and others will come to know Him through you! Stir it up, allow it to guard your heart and minds, for you were born to embody His peace.

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7

Dear Daughter,

This is your time to shine.

Love, Dad

One of my favorite women in the Bible is Esther. You should totally give her story a read if you have the chance. Just like Esther, I believe whole-heartedly we were all born for ‘such a time as this’, and that our lives have an influence and a reach that can far surpasses this generation. Yet during our journey we will be faced with life defining moments, where our true character will be tested. The question is: what will we do when push comes to shove and we are faced with the decision to shut up or stand up? The enemy will do all he can to silence us or convince us that our words don’t matter. But just as Esther’s legacy proves, we all have a God given destiny, and when we choose to partner with God, the outcome and ripple effect will be super-natural and monumental.

“For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Dear Daughter,

Thank you for representing me.

Love, Dad

I was looking up the other day what the word Ambassador meant in the dictionary and was captivated by the definition. “A highest-ranking person who represents his or her own government while living in another country.” I love the thought that we are representatives of God, this side of eternity on earth. Not to mention He’s declared us as His highest ranks! He’s chosen us, His princesses, the best of the best to represent Him and provide a foretaste of heaven. With that in mind, I reckon we can step out with boldness as we represent Him well in love and in grace. So that other’s may get to know Him better.

“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.”

2 Corinthians 5:20

Dear Daughter,

You don’t have to fear now.

Love, Dad

Ok, confession time… not that long ago I was still afraid of the dark. Embarrassing, I know. I used to sleep with my iPhone next to me so I could have the flash light app on, or fall asleep with the TV on. I remember one night feeling so afraid, and then I heard Holy Spirit whisper to me, “Anne-Marie, I have not given you a spirit of fear.” I thought to myself, well what has he given me? I grabbed my Bible and looked for an answer. 2 Timothy had the answer to my question. Instead of fear, He has given us a spirit of Power, Love, and Self Discipline. After reading that, I turned off all the lights, and kept repeating this scripture over and over until I fell sound asleep. And you know what, that Spirit of fear went back to where it came from. Is there anything that is causing you fear? If so, I’d ask you to declare this scripture over that fear, and see for yourself the Power and Authority that God has given you.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”

Dear Daughter,

Don’t forget your armor.

Love, Dad

There is this chapter in the Bible, called Ephesians. It paints a beautiful picture of the armor that God has given us for battle. ‘What kind of battles’ you may ask? Well anything from our day-to-day struggles, to the ones we fight behind the scenes. He’s given us everything we need to not only fight those battles, but also stand victorious on the other side of them. Practically He has given us 6 key elements( are pieces of armor) from the shield of faith, to the sword of the Spirit, to the shoes that bring forth the peace of the Gospel, to the buckle of truth, to the breastplate of righteousness, to the helmet of salvation. When we use all of those together- we have everything we need to be battle ready. Once more, when we choose to dress ourselves with those elements daily, we are ready for anything.

So what is your battle stance today, girls? Are you suited up and ready for action? Have you put on every bit of your armor -knowing that with His armor you stand undefeated!

If you get a chance, try reading Ephesians 6 aloud and Picture yourself putting on this armor before your leave the house today, and watch and see what God does through you.

“Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”

Dear Daughter,

You are free.

Love, Dad

I feel like this may be for one girl in particular- so I’m writing this one for you- I speak freedom In Jesus’ name across every area of your life; there are no longer limitations holding you back for you serve a Limitless God. His Love and Mercy knows no bounds (Hosea 14:4 NLT) and nothing can stand in His way (Isaiah 14:27). As His daughter, you have full permission to Stand Tall and walk in the promise and the Freedom that is found in Jesus Christ.

In faith, why don’t you try writing down what you believe to see freedom in, and be encouraged that whom the Son sets free, is free indeed. No one and nothing can stop you now.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

Dear Daughter,

You’re awesome.

Love, Dad

As a woman made alive in Christ, you have the power to bring Life into any situation through the authority of your words. Proverbs 18:21, talks about how our words can bring life or death. For example- when speaking to yourself do you use words like ‘ugh- I’m such an idiot’, or ‘I can never do anything right’ these words would be found in the death-giving category; meaning that they are in no way encouraging, and on top that they are not even true. Versus, words like – ‘you’ve got this girl’ and ‘ you are totally awesome’. These words not only leave you feeling uplifted and wonderful, but they are the truth. I once had a pastor of mine explain it like this: talk to yourself as you would talk to a five-year old- full of love. So, if you were honest with yourself- how are you exercising this authority? Do your words reflect the life that you have been so freely given? What about the words that you speak over yourself? Are they a breath of fresh air?

Take some time to reflect on your language today. Encourage yourself and another girl in your world with Life giving words; you’ll be amazed by the outcome!

“ Words kill, words give life: they’re either poison or fruit- you choose” MSG.
